Surprise! Kenya has a bear—a gift from Russia’s President in 2003. Named Potap, this bear resides at Ol Jogi Wildlife Conservancy in Laikipia, making him one of Kenya’s most unexpected animal residents.

Kenya is home to Najin and Fatu, the last two northern white rhinos on Earth. They live under 24-hour armed protection at Ol Pejeta Conservancy after the last male, Sudan, passed away in 2018 at the age of 45.
